To determine if you have Crohn's disease, your healthcare provider will take a complete medical history and perform a physical exam. Your physician may also order imaging test such as a barium x-ray to look at the intestine and the colon. It is also rather common for physicians to order a colonoscopy to determine a definitive diagnosis of the disease. This allows your physician to look directly into the colon to see exactly what is going on.
Unfortunately at this time, this cannot be cured. However, there are many medications on today's market that can help manage the disease. Medications can reduce the inflammation and infection often seen in conjunction with the worsening symptoms of Crohn's disease.
